Second Christmas Dinner

So ever since I can remember my family (the Allreds) have had Spaghetti and Meat Balls for Christmas Dinner (notice the respect that it received, capitalized). My parents wanted to start a tradition and asked the kids what they wanted for Christmas Dinner. Of course our first response was McDonalds. That was not possible, because we lived in Dubois WY where there is no McDonalds, nor was it wanted by the parents. The next suggestion, by my brother, was spaghetti and meat balls. Of course if my brother wanted it, so did I. The vote passed two to one. It has been a tradition ever since. I have many fond memories of eating Spaghetti and Meat Balls every Christmas Eve ever since. My family came to Salt Lake for the new year celebration and my dad brought some meat balls that were pre-made so that the tradition could continue. As you can see by Gabe's face, he loved them. He ate several, it was pretty funny.

Another Post of Random Pictures

Gabe and Mom.
Gabe just being cute on the floor.
Gabe at lunch time.
Gabe in his goofy outfit so he didn't freeze on a fall walk.
Tom at Potato harvest with Paul. (It was super cool)
When Jana and I were first married we stoped and took a picture here on our way back to Salt Lake. So we had to take another one with Gabe.

Growth Picture

Since gabe was born we have been taking pictures each month (or when we remember) next to his giraffe. This is his 10 month picture. I think there is an earlier post with previous pictures next to the giraffe.

Christmas

For Christmas Gabe got a Tigger Airplane toy from Santa. He also got a funny track suit from his mom. He looks like a little old man in it. He loved the toy a lot. He would sit on it and shake to the music. It was a lot of fun.

This is Gabe and Dad at the Ward Christmas Party. How about that classy onesie with a built in tie.
This is Gabe on Santa's lap at the party.

Random Pictures

Here are some pictures of Gabe in no particular order. I was told by someone that I haven't posted anything in forever. Jana is always sending me picture messages of what her and Gabe are doing, so here are a few of them.

This is Gabe shopping with Mom.
Helping with the laundry

Picking out his very own pumpkin

Testing out a cupcake at his cousin's birthday party

Wearing one of Dad's throw back eighties outfits. Man he looks good.

Helping Mom clean the floor

Our little family with Santa.
It's bath time!

As you can see the pacifier is almost always present with Gabe, he loves it. Well I'll try and do better and post more stuff.

Girl's Camp

Okay so this is my second attempt at writing this blog - this is hard to get the pictures where Iwant them!! Tom is our blogger but has been busy and we've gotten requests for an update so I'm giving this a try.

Gabe and I went to Girl's Camp this year - he came last year - but inside instead of out which BTW is alot less stressful. Girl's Camp was the third week of June which meant with this year's crazy weather - a cold and rainy time. We tried to stay warm any way we could.

It was really muddy - check out my shoes and the wheels on the stroller (I don't know how to rotate . . . sorry.

Here's the cute man enduring the cold weather!

Gabe's thought "Mom, why do you make me do such things?"

Here is the all of the gang. We survived! Everyone was such good sports and we had a great time.

Look at Him Grow

My mom suggested the we take a picture with Gabe by the same stuffed animal each month to see how he has grown. He is still a little guy, but it is fun to see him grow, even if it's just a little.

Family Trip to Pennsylvania

In May Jana's brother Kyle graduated from medical school in Hershey Pennsylvania. We (Jana's whole family and ourselves) took the opportunity to travel to PN and visit some of DC while we were there. It was a wonderful time. I should have posted something a long time ago, but as you can see I didn't. So, I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures for the sake of time.

These are all of the cousins that are the same age as Gabe

This is the whole group in front of the Washington DC, LDS Temple

Gabe and Jana in front of the Judicial building

Gabe and his Aunt Alisa and Cousin Ella who live outside of Baltimore and met us at the Zoo

Gabe with his cousin Londyn

The fam in front of a bust of George Washington at Mount Vernon

Gabe and the four cousins again

Everyone worn out after a day of monument hiking, and we still weren't done

The group on their way to the Vietnam Memorial

Us in front of the WWII Memorial and the Washington Monument in the background

Gabe was eating his toes for the first time and we managed to get it on camera, it was hilarious

Us at Hershey Park with the Hershey Kiss

The cousins all swimming, it was cold water

Gabe with his cousin Kaysen, who we think he looks a lot alike.

Gabe was a pretty good kid the whole trip as you can see
Well, I know that was a lot of pictures, but I'm too lazy right now to write about everything. Maybe soon though.

Conference Weekend and Gabe's Blessing

Well we have had a lot of fun with family lately. Over General Conference weekend we stayed with Jana's sister and her husband. It was a blast. Of course, we took some great pics of Gabe and Bentley.

This is Gabe checking out the mobile above him, as
you can see he really liked it.

This is Gabe and his cousin Bentley playing
with Jeremy (Bentley's Dad)

This was a moment of weakness, we let them
watch TV.
The following weekend we were able to go to Jana's parents house for Easter. It was a great time. We got to watch our niece get baptized, Jana's sister do amazing at Junior Miss, and bless Gabe. It was a great time.

Jana and me with Gabe after the blessing.
(This is apparently where all Prom pictures are taken at the
Thompson household, we felt so honored.)

Gabe in his blessing outfit and several posses.

At one point he had his hair all duded up for the blessing,
but it looks like he managed to "sleep" it back to normal.

This is Gabe the Cougar fan, thanks Trenton and Angela.

Thanks everyone for such a fun weekend. We got to see lots of family and a few friends that we hadn't seen in a while. We look forward to when we get to see you all again.
