Denver and Back Again

This past week was a blast. On Friday of last week we received a visit from my best bud Adam Aullman, his wife and their new baby Madeline. They were in town for a quick visit to the Dr. so they spent the night with us. It was fun to meet the newest member of their family Madeline. Gabe also enjoyed the visit. The following day, after work, we flew to Denver to surprise my brother Reid for his birthday. Emily, his wife, organized it all. It was a lot of fun. In the airport Gabe decided that it would be a good time to fill his pants, so he did so, with vigor. He managed to blow out of his onesie and pj's. So in the airport he was stipped down to nothin and changed to his ugly yellow, backup pj's. He looks rather pleased with himself doesn't he.

While in Denver we played with my brother and his family, it was a blast. We went to church with them and played with them all day Saturday. Reid and I even got some golf in at the local driving range. This is Gabe on Sunday in his church duds.On Sunday we sadly headed back to the airport and flew back home to reality. It was a great trip and fun for Gabe to meet his cousins, aunt, and uncle. It makes us want to live closer to family. On the way home Gabe decided to wait until we were airborne to "go potty" (I don't know if it is "going potty" if its in your pants).
The rest of the pictures are just put here cause they're cute. Look at this wild man's hair.
Here is Gabe with his neighbor.

I think that our blog mainly consists of pictures and more pictures. So here are some more pictures for your viewing pleasure.

This is Gabe and his cousin Bentley getting to know each other.

Here is Gabe with his church duds on.

Our first walk.

Getting a little tummy time on his tummy surf mat.

Gabe with his fat dad (still has some "baby" weight to lose) and beautiful mom.

The gorgeous, get well flowers from Grandma B.

Bath time-one of Gabe's favorite, daily rituals.
That is about it from us. We are doing well, Jana is healing and feeling much better, and Gabe is growing up.

Graduation

Gabe is now officially graduating to 0-3 month clothes. Up until now he has been in newborn clothes, but with a lot of eating and sleeping, he's managed to move up a size. Congratulations Gabe.

This is what happens when Mom and Dad get bored.

Jana in the Hospital

This has been a tough week for us. Jana has been in the hospital getting a tumor removed from her rib, and Gabe had to be away from her quite a bit. It was rough on us all, but we got some cute pictures out of the whole thing. We have also been informed that we have an awful lot of pictures of the little man with a binkie. We tried to get some without for everyone's viewing pleasure. It was quite the task, he really likes his binkie...a lot.

Gabe Really liked to sleep with his mom. I think that he missed not being around her every day.

These two are of Gabe after his bath. He has curly hair after his bath. We'll see if it sticks.

A visit from the Hanks cousins

I thought thatwe should post some pics of Gabe, just in case people hadn't seen enough of him. This is just the little guy being cute in general.

This week Gabe and Jana received a visit from the cousins. Gabe got to meet all of the Hanks for the first time. He loved it (he told me so later that day). He met his cousin that is just a few months older than he is, and I think they really hit it off. They are life-time friends now.

Gabe and Preston really connected.

This is Gabe being taken care of by Maisie his cousin.

This is Gabe doing a little "tummy surfing"

This is Gabe sitting up like a real man all by himself on the couch.

This is Gabe after a long day of Dr. visits and hard work. Man life wears a guy right out.

Giving this a try

So, I thought that now that we have a baby we officially have something to blog about. Gabe, that is his name, was born on the 12th of January, 2008. He has a whopping 6 lbs 10.5 oz and 19.5 inches long. He is an amazing little guy. We get a kick out of him on a daily basis. I guess that was a good start. I'll see if I can figure out how to add pictures.
